Critical Start, a Top 250 MSSP and managed detection and response (MDR) provider, is offering Sumo Logic customers with always-on threat detection coverage, according to the companies.

SIEM-Ready Solution

Sumo Logic customers can use Critical Start Security Services for SIEM (security information and event management) to manage security incidents, improve their security posture and comply with security regulations and standards, the companies noted.

They also can access security insights to manage their SIEM and detect and respond to threats more efficiently and effectively. Accordingly, Sumo Logic customers are well equipped to maximize the value of their SIEM investments.

Commenting to MSSP Alert about the company's partnership with Sumo Logic, a Critical Start spokesperson said:

"With this partnership, Critical Start provides Sumo Logic customers the ability to reach the full operating potential of their SIEM investment for threat detection and response through improved configuration and the actioning of every alert within a 1-hour SLA."

In addition, Critical Start Product Management Director Steven Rosenthal will share additional details about his company's partnership with Sumo Logic during a presentation at the 2023 RSA Conference, April 24-27 in San Francisco, California.

Critical Start Doubles Revenue, Customer Base

The Sumo Logic partnership announcement comes after Critical Start in April 2023 reported a two-fold increase in both its revenue and new customers within the last two years.

Some of Critical Start's achievements during this period include:

  • Appointing cybersecurity industry veteran Sean Goldstein as chief marketing officer and promoting Chris Carlson from vice president of product management to chief product officer
  • Launching a managed SIEM service that supports Microsoft Sentinel and Splunk Cloud Platform
  • Adding $215 million in funding from private equity firm Vista Equity Partners

Demand for Critical Start's MDR services remains high, CEO Rob Davis said in April 2023. Critical Start is also poised to continue to experience "explosive growth from both a revenue and product development perspective," Davis noted.

Critical Start offers MDR, SIEM, endpoint detection and response (EDR) and eXtended detection and response (XDR) services to global organizations. Its Channel Partner Program enables MSSPs, MSPs and other technology providers to integrate these services into their portfolios.
