The U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) has awarded a hardware, software and services contract worth an estimated $550.8 million to cybersecurity firms International Systems Marketing, DLT Solutions and EC America.Under the terms of the agreement, McAfee cybersecurity solutions will be provided for the DoD, U.S. intelligence community and U.S. Coast Guard activities worldwide. It's unclear if the win involves replacing any Kaspersky Lab security software. The federal government has stopped using Kaspersky's software amid fears that the company may have ties to Russia's government. Kaspersky has repeatedly denied the claim, and just today announced its own milestone -- reaching the 1,000 MSP partner mark worldwide.Meanwhile, McAfee's core government services and solutions include:
- Continuous Diagnostics and Mitigation: Enables government organizations to identify cybersecurity risks and prioritize these risks based on their potential impact.
- Cybersecurity-as-a-Service: Provides government organizations with a fully managed service offering that McAfee deploys and controls.
- Endpoint Protection: Empowers government organizations with anti-malware, antivirus and firewall capabilities based on McAfee's endpoint detection and response (EDR) and machine learning technology.
