Netskope, a secure access service edge (SASE) company, has purchased zero trust security provider Infiot for an undisclosed sum.
This is technology M&A deal number 692 that MSSP Alert and sister site ChannelE2E have covered so far in 2022.
Netskope, founded in 2012, is based in Santa Clara, California. The company has 2,026 employees listed on LinkedIn. Netskope's areas of expertise include cloud, data and network security.
Infiot, founded in 2018, is based in San Jose, California. The company has 28 employees listed on LinkedIn. Infiot's areas of expertise include zero trust security, network optimization and edge-intelligence and artificial intelligence-based operations.
What the Infiot Acquisition Means for Netskope
Netskope will use Infiot's zero trust security technology to deliver a "fully integrated, single-vendor SASE platform," the company noted. The platform, Netskope Borderless WAN, enables Netskope customers to apply security and quality of experience (QoE) policies across in-house and remote work teams, branch offices, ad-hoc point-of-sale systems and multi-cloud environments. In addition, the platform lets these customers use a single architecture, one policy framework and one console to secure their data, networks and systems.
Infiot could help Netskope capitalize on rising demand for SASE solutions. The global SASE is projected to expand at a compound annual growth rate of 26.1% between 2021 and 2026, industry analyst MarketsandMarkets said. It also could be worth $4.1 billion by 2026.
Comcast Business Partners with Fortinet to Deliver SASE Solutions
Netskope's Infiot acquisition comes after Comcast Business in August 2022 announced a partnership with Fortinet to deliver SASE and secure service edge (SSE) services. The partnership allows Comcast to provide Comcast Business Secure Gateways that include SASE or SSE services across various security networking solutions, the companies stated.
Along with Netskope and Comcast, Orange Business Services, Palo Alto Networks and other companies that work with MSSPs and MSPs have announced SASE solutions and services in 2022. More of these companies may look to offer SASE solutions and services and explore new opportunities to partner with MSSPs and MSPs in the future.
