14. US-Russia Cyber Showdown: Alexander Polyakov, the founder and CTO of security services firm ERPScan has denied having any links with Russia's Federal Security Service (FSB), according to Computing. Polyakov was commenting after the company was named as one of five sanctioned by US authorities earlier this week, the report says.

13. Breach Investigation: Britain’s National Crime Agency is investigating the cyber attack on the mobile phone retailer Dixons Carphone, Reuters reports.

12. Funding: Monarx, a cybersecurity startup that protects open source web systems, has raised $3.4 million in seed funding.

11. Information Sharing: Fortinet has signed a threat sharing relationship with INTERPOL, the world's largest international police organization.

10. Cyber Insurance: Corvus Insurance has launched Smart Cyber Insurance, which offers broad cyber insurance to organizations with up to $1 Billion in annual revenue, the company says.

9. Contracts - Dams & Infrastructure: Two companies were awarded spots on a $45 million contract to secure the nation’s dams from cyberattacks. The winners include Booz Allen Hamilton and Spry Methods, according to DefenseOne.

8. Partnership - Infrastructure Security: BlackRidge Technology International and Agile Fractal Grid have launched a Security as a Service offering to more than 400 utilities providers and systems operators at the 2018 Milsoft Users Conference this week in Florida. In a related move, BlackRidge has appointed Michael Murray to lead the new IIoT and Critical Infrastructure division.

7. Partner Program Part One: Centrify has launched a new partner program called Centrify Zero Trust Security Network. The effort was previously know as the Centrify Alliance Partner Program (CAPP).

6. Partner Program Part Two: High-Tech Bridge, a provider of web and mobile application security solutions, has launched a VAR partner program for its machine learning and AI technologies. The program also is designed for MSSPs, IT security distributors, integrators, consultants and hosting providers, the company says.

5. Business Strategy: Australian MSSP OpSys has embraced FireEye Helix for various managed security services offerings...

4. Talent - Accenture: The global systems integrator has hired former Invincea CEO Anup Ghosh as the managing director of the company's cybersecurity business. Sophos acquired Invincia in 2017. Ghosh has extensive experience in and around the government cybersecurity market. He has held key posts at DARPA and the US Department of Defense.

3. Talent - Optiv Security: The cybersecurity solutions provider has named Chad Holmes as chief services and operations officer and Nate Brady as chief financial officer, two key appointments that support the company’s global services expansion and business growth strategy, the company says.

2. Conference: The Threat Hunting & Incident Response Summit is set for September in New Orleans. Carbon Black and SANS Institute are hosting.
