CyFlare, an MSSP that offers managed security, monitor, detect and respond (MDR) and security operations center (SOC) services to value-added resellers (VARs), and antivirus solutions provider FFRI together are bringing advanced endpoint security capabilities to small and medium-sized businesses (SMBs).
The companies today announced a strategic partnership to deliver a managed security service to SMBs, according to a prepared statement. This service will be provided by CyFlare and leverages FFRI's yarai endpoint protection platform to help SMBs identify and address viruses and zero-day malware.
What Does the Partnership Mean for CyFlare and FFRI?
With the partnership, SMBs now can utilize a cost-effective and fully managed security service to protect themselves against a wide range of zero-day vulnerabilities, FFRI North America CEO Pablo Garcia said.
Also, the partnership enables CyFlare to further enhance its security stack and safeguard its customers and partners against advanced cyber threats, Vice President of Sales and Business Development Douglas Mannella stated.
VAR Focus: CyFlare is an MSSP that does not sell directly to customers and does not compete with the channel. Instead, CyFlare provides VARs with managed security, MDR and SOC services to augment their existing cybersecurity capabilities and ensure these partners can provide 24×7 cybersecurity services to their customers.
For example, CyFlare last month partnered with Phoenix-based VAR Solution Synergy to provide security and infrastructure support to healthcare organizations across the United States. The CyFlare-Solution Synergy joint offering enables healthcare organizations to manage security alerts, analyze user device behavior and find ways to reduce the risk of cyberattacks.
FFRI is a Japanese company that launched in 2007 and established North America operations in October. It is publicly traded on the Tokyo Stock Exchange in Japan and supports thousands of customers globally.
The FFRI yarai platform uses multiple core protection engines and a hybrid security approach to empower organizations with in-depth endpoint protection. It does not rely on cloud access, signatures or third-party feeds for threat detection and prevention, FFRI noted, and harnesses both security research and machine learning to help organizations stop cyberattacks.
SOCs for Partners: A growing number of SOCs that support VARs and MSPs are popping up across North America. Additional examples include:
- Arctic Wolf Networks, which has an integration with ConnectWise.
- ChannelSOC, which surfaced at the CompTIA ChannelCon 2017 conference in August;
- Continuum, which plans to launch a SOC purpose-built for MSPs sometime in early 2018;
- CyberBit, which offers a SOC to MSSP partners like MNS Group;
- CyFlare — which has a SOC for VARs;
- Foresite, which just inked a distribution agreement with ConnectWise;
- NetEnrich — which offers SOC services to midsize MSPs and VARs;
- Trusted Metrics offers a home-grown Elastic SOC to partners; and
- Infogressive and Carvir are two up-and-coming master MSSPs that offer their services to MSPs.
